Regina Krel, M.D. is board-certified in Neurology and Headache Medicine. She is currently the director of Headache Medicine at Hackensack Univeristy Medical Center and an assistant professor of Neurology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
Dr. Krel specializes in headaches and facial pain. Her patients have access to an infusion center for acute attacks of headache, as well as to therapeutic Botox® injections, nerve blocks, and psychological counseling.
Dr. Krel grew up in New York and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at St. John's University in Queens. After obtaining her medical degree at the American University of Antigua, she trained in Neurology at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she served as chief resident. She also completed a Headache Medicine Fellowship at Harvard University's Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Dr. Krel has produced multiple publications on the subject of headache management. She has also served on the advocacy committee, the medical school education task force, and the membership committe for the American Headache Society. She also participated on Headache on the Hill in Washington D.C. in 2025.
Dr. Krel was featured as one of Bergen Magazine's 2022 Top Doctors, Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2024 and NJ Top Docs 2026.
